Fun Summer!

Summer's just heating up!
...(and if you live here in New England, YES you know this! it's been blistering in our neck of the woods) Having said that, Don't put away your Iro scarves because they're not just for NECKS anymore......Wear them as a belt for your frock or your capri pants?, tie one around your shade hat as a cool looking colorful hatband? or tie your hair back and do up the Erika Badu thang....?
And while we are "on that topic", Head-wraps are a terrific way to shelter from the harmful effects of the sun, and if you are going through treatment they cover your head stylishly and softly to provide style and comfort for these challenging times.

So, what have we been up to since Spring? Working our Butts off opening re-styling, re-stocking and merchandising and curating our Summer Season gallery POP Gallery Gloucester MA! it's a BLAST of color, FUN, and amazing artisan created work from 2Dimensions to 3 in every medium and style and with
a Twist of humor to keep it "cheeky and interesting" in addition to making it affordable for everyone, Gender friendly and even your sons and daughters, boyfriends and husbands, will find some funky ($ friendly) STUFF!?

Please check out latest collections as we re-invent the wheel with new art arriving all the time...Jewels, fiber, clay, paintings, cards, silly gum....YOU NAME IT!

Come check us out Thursdays 11-6pm Fridays' 11-8pm, Saturdays 11-8pm, and Sunday's 12-6pm....and by appointment or announcement....
This Thursday 28th of July we will close to be part of the First annual Barefoot in Rockport Fashion show where we will feature our stuff in the show.
Enjoy a hot sunny summer everyone! Soak it all in.....
Love Peg

Warm Temps and Flowers FINALLY!

...it's seems like it's taken a supremely long time for Spring to arrive in New England this year..? I took advantage of it and went skiing at "the King of Spring" Sugarloaf mtn. in Maine last week which was a needed "time out" for iro Design.
Back at the studio, we just released some new ideas into the proverbial "design air" and I can tell that these bursts will direct our efforts for a while to come....some real retro vibes, grafitti-like scribblings, shapes from the way back of my early days came bubbling forth and I was SUPER happy with the blast of energy and explosion of colors that resulted!
In a few weeks we'll be almost through our Mother's Day madness of orders and we will enjoy a few days down in the Key's of FL for a Trunk-showing of some of this righteous new design! April 28-May 4th if anyone finds themselves sunning in Islamorada Florida please visit us @ Gallery Morada, where we will be hosted by Laurie Wickham & her fish-fiend partner, Dick Hagood as we display an assortment of new iro goods in their gorgeous gallery down there....
Also, time for new pictures with our friends Liam and Connie in Miami beach....
ahhhhh...something to soothe the soul for sure!
check it out soon in POP Gallery Gloucester! Opening again in May!
cheers ...Peg

Vernal Equinox

Greetings! We greet the first day of Spring here in Boston with a spittle of Snow and Rain...but hey, It's New England right?
As an antidote to the gloomy forecast AND global news of late (our hearts ache! as Japanese design is such our muse!) we are heading into the studio after a show in Atlanta GA. last week where we showed and SOLD so much of our Spring line..it went GREAT! So great in fact, that we fear that the upcoming CrafBoston show this coming weekend here in Boston (see website show page for info) will be something of an "Emperor's New Clothes" kind of show?
Ahh well.....success has it downside...ha!
We promise to be showing some stunning new pieces. Suk Har Luk Li otherwise known as the amazing Pauline, has once again re-invented our "wheels" and surprised us with some new patterns she dreamnt up while playing with some new cotton weights we've been painting on...
Also new, will be some textured and distressed organza scarves and georgette patchworked long long scarves...
Oh Hell, basically it's ALL new, Everyday...but you know that from looking right?
One of a kind, One at a time...promise.
see ya soon.
p.s Pop Gallery in May coming up with way fun stuff for the gallery!

Start of something NEW!

....Morning before leaving for The 2011 American Craft Council show in Baltimore. Ironing like crazy and getting everything packed and ready. We still await the last of our samples, but Please have a look at the new Resort/Spring releases we just posted. Thanks to our superb team of designers here, our gorgeous friend Connie Johnson, and our new friend and photographer, Liam Crotty down in South Beach, FL. We were able to document our pieces before they (hopefully) sell at the shows! AS YOU KNOW, each one is delicately HAND made here in the Boston studio, so when one is sold, THAT's IT...NO MORE....we can try, but no two are EVER the exact same, and THAT is what sets us apart.....these fabrics are unique exclusive paintings, human hands touch every aspect of these creations....no two will ever be made quite like the one you're wearing...so rest assured, this stuff IS FLY! and hopefully will fly away with you on your next trip?

Please continue to visit the site for updates, we are now convinced of the effectiveness of this cyber-space medium to connect us to our viewers and give us opportunity to post your photos, your requests, and maintain a dialogue so that we can respond to customers and continue to re-invent the Iro Color Wheel every season!
Wish me luck, we leave tomorrow and are at the show through Sunday 27th...visit me?!
Cheers, Peggy
